Google Doodle
I have always been a big fan of Google Doodle and to get an opportunity to create one and that too for such a special day is something that I could have never dreamt of. Finally, there is something good for me in 2020. I was deeply honoured and thrilled when I was approached for the India Independence Day 2020 doodle. At a philosophical level, my inspiration was the diversity of this country. This rich cultural fabric meticulously woven together always amazes me. For execution of doodle with various musical instruments, I have drawn inspiration from various Indian art forms like Kalamkari, Madhubani, Warli, Gond, Phad & Pichwai to bring this idea to life.

Challenge
Creating a Google Doodle for India’s Independence Day meant representing the spirit of an incredibly diverse nation within the limited canvas of the Google logo. The challenge was to celebrate India’s cultural richness in a way that felt inclusive, meaningful, and instantly recognizable.
Solution
The doodle drew inspiration from India’s musical heritage and traditional art forms including Kalamkari, Madhubani, Warli, Gond, Phad, and Pichwai. By combining diverse musical instruments and folk-art influences into a unified visual language, the artwork celebrated the harmony, creativity, and cultural diversity that define India.
